Grievance Procedures

All employees have the contractual right to raise a grievance, and there is currently a statutory process for raising a formal grievance. Formal grievances must be raised in writing and the employer must arrange a meeting to discuss the grievance, at which the employee is entitled to be accompanied by a fellow employee or accredited trade union representative. The employee must be informed of the outcome of the meeting and if the employee is dissatisfied with the outcome they have the right to an appeal meeting.

Badly handled grievances can get out of hand and escalate into major problems, often resulting in employees resigning and claiming unfair constructive dismissal at an Employment Tribunal, and Citation plc has a wealth of experience in helping clients to deal with grievances.

We currently provide fixed cost compliance solutions for over 6,000 clients across the UK.
