The growth in employment legislation from the early 70s, when there were less than half-a-dozen ‘employment laws’ to the present day, with over 60 Acts of Parliament, more than 120 Regulations, 20 Codes of Practice and nearly 40 European Directives, has led to a corresponding increase in the number of Employment Tribunal claims.

Employment Tribunals now have 57 jurisdictions – 57 different reasons that an employer can find itself in an Employment Tribunal.
