Back in October 2020, Boris Johnson announced that the furlough scheme was going to be extended nationally, with Rishi Sunak’s announcing on 5 November that the extended furlough scheme will continue to the end of March 2021.
However, with the steady rise of COVID cases throughout the festive season and to increase certainty for business owners, the chancellor confirmed on 17 December that the furlough scheme would be extended to the end of April 2021.
