The HTA is a trade association representing the UK garden industry.

A cost-effective and comprehensive range of business support and development initiatives are available to individual members.

The Challenge

The UK has more Employment Law and Health & Safety regulations than ever before and more businesses are tied up in red tape.

The HTA wanted to remove the compliance burden from their members by giving them access to a third party who could give them peace of mind that they are compliant with new Employment and Health & Safety regulations and legislation.

The HTA also needed support to ensure they were compliant themselves and leave them to concentrate on their members' needs, rather than the responsibility falling with staff who were not employment law and Health & Safety experts.

A lot of time was unnecessarily spent researching the correct procedures and processes and keeping updated on legislative changes.

The Solution

The HTA have partnered with the industry leading expert, Citation, to offer their members quality service and advice.

Citation offers assistance with issues such as contracts of employment, disciplinary and grievance procedures, employment tribunals, health & safety policies and risk assessments.

Having comprehensive systems in place can protect staff, customers and the business owner. Citation clients who follow the advice given are at least 12 times less likely to face an employment tribunal and 13 times less likely to receive an enforcement notice.

The Result

Paul Basham, Finance Director at The HTA says:

"We have the bonus of being clients of Citation ourselves so we have experienced first-hand the quality services they provide: HTA has rolled out new employment contracts and staff handbooks. Citation is now a vital part of our HR and Health & Safety team."

Having established a partnership with The HTA in 2010, Citation has built a prosperous relationship, saving as many members as possible from unnecessary penalties.
