Some common questions:

When do you legally need to implement a Health & Safety policy?

Any business with 5 or more employees is legally required to create a Health & Safety policy.

However, we would suggest to businesses of all sizes that they record all of their Health & Safety activities.

Do I need to put first aid arrangements in place?

It is a necessity to have first aid arrangements in place. Here is the minimum you should have:

• An appointed person to take charge of First Aid arrangements
• Make information available to all employees giving clear and concise details of first-aid arrangements
• You must also have a suitably stocked first-aid box

Although your appointed person doesn't need to be first aid trained we would suggest them being so. They can be trained by any competent first-aid training provider.

This will give you peace of mind that somebody in the business will be able to help an employee if an injury does occur.
