On 31 October, the government announced a month-long second lockdown for England to lower the rising infection rates. Now that the UK finds itself in tight restrictions again, it’s important that you can show your business is COVID-secure during inspections. Creating a COVID-secure workplace has never been more crucial, especially as now COVID-compliance has become a legal obligation.
We know that the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and Local authorities across the country are ramping up their inspection activity, with a particular focus on how COVID-secure workplaces are. Local authorities will receive extra funding to increase police presence to enforce these rules and to call on the military to support them with their enforcement efforts.
Not meeting these standards and legal requirements in the workplace will result in fines of up to £10,000 and being forced to close your doors.
To help make sure you’ve got every base covered when it comes to proving your COVID-compliant during inspections, our Health & Safety and HR experts have put together this checklist of considerations you need to make to avoid any fines and the closure of your business.
