Agricultural Wages Board to be abolished in England?

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has recently concluded a consultation process on its proposals to abolish the AWB for England and Wales, and the outcome of the consultation is expected to be a recommendation in favour of its abolition.

However, both the Scottish Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly have decided to retain their respective AWBs, and the Welsh Assembly has announced that it is to “explore all the options to ensure that the functions of the AWB are maintained in Wales.”
