Reopening your gym or leisure centre: a checklist

Businesses across the country have been eagerly awaiting the chance to reopen their doors as part of the government’s four-part roadmap out of lockdown, announced by Boris Johnson back in February.

Gyms, leisure centres and indoor pools have been closed for many months, with the health and fitness sector taking a huge blow as a result of multiple lockdowns and tighter restrictions. However, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting nearer, as gyms and other indoor leisure can begin to reopen from 12 April – albeit only for use by individuals or household groups.

Then, in the third step of the roadmap, from 17 May, indoor team sport and group exercise classes will return.
